10 Years of Globus: From the first hypermarket to the largest chain in Kyrgyzstan

Today, the Globus chain has more than 70 stores throughout Kyrgyzstan. And it all started ten years ago in Bishkek with the opening of the first hypermarket on Aaly Tokombaev str. On this special day, we decided to remember how it all began and tell you about the path we have traveled together with you over the years.

More than just a store

Today we are used to the fact that everything we need can be found in one place, saving time and effort. But this was not always the case.

Do you remember the moment when you first entered the spacious hall of the hypermarket?

Bright, cozy, with wide aisles and neatly arranged shelves - it created a feeling of comfort from the first minutes. In the air you could feel the warm, inviting aroma of freshly baked bread - somewhere nearby bakers were taking out of the oven ruddy baguettes and crispy buns. A little farther away you could smell the spicy smell of oriental spices mixed with appetizing notes of fresh dishes.

And most importantly you were met by a team of people who are sincerely ready to help each customer, create a cozy atmosphere and make shopping a pleasant experience.

Globus from the first days absorbed the most modern and bold solutions. Thus, for the first time in the domestic store was applied the technology of combining the sales area and warehouse. Here also appeared the first own cooking shop and bakery, special zones such as electric tandoor for baking fresh cakes and aquariums with live fish.

For the first time digital solutions were introduced here: a mobile application that helps to navigate in the store, making shopping even more convenient and profitable.

All this created a unique atmosphere and made your favorite store as you know it today.

From the first steps to your favorite place

Ten years have flown by like one year. We have grown and developed together with you and thanks to you. We listened to your wishes, made innovations, opened new stores and new formats so that every shopping trip was not only profitable but also pleasant for you.

Every day more than 250 thousand residents and guests of the country choose Globus as a convenient and reliable place for their shopping. On average, each shopper visits us about four times a month, that's nearly 12 million visits a year!
